After missing out on the month of June with thoracic outlet syndrome that induced tingling in his pitching hand, Josh Beckett appears headed for the disabled checklist for the remainder of the season.

Ken Gurnick and Austin Laymance of MLB.com reported on Friday that Beckett would start a tossing method in an attempt to mend the issue without surgical treatment. As it ends up, the method didn’t generate the results that Beckett or the Los Angeles Dodgers were wishing for.

Regrettably, Beckett will now be forced to discover if he could return after said surgical treatment. Provided his unsatisfactory efficiency this period (0-5, 5.19 ERA) and the Dodgers’ struggles, going for a long-lasting solution may be the most effective choice for both events.

At 36-43, L.a stays at the bottom of the NL West and 5.5 games behind the division-leading Diamondbacks. The team has acted in recent weeks, publishing a 7-3 document in its last 10 games, yet the Dodgers still face some major inquiries– starting with the health of some of their marquee users.

With Beckett’s season-ending surgical procedure, the Dodgers now have another hole to load. While he hasn’t already added in the last month, manager Don Mattingly will now have no option but also to take into consideration long-lasting choices to load Beckett’s place in the rotation for the other season.
